Brenda Carey

Asana Teacher & 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Facilitator

Brenda Carey, Holistic Yoga SchoolBrenda began her yoga journey about 18 years ago, searching for back pain relief.  Diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager, she eventually had spinal fusion surgery at the age of 19. She struggled with the limitations in her body from the herrington rods placed along her spine.

Initially, the awareness of these new limitations that emerged from yoga and meditation were emotionally overwhelming. However over time, through a process of self acceptance on her mat and honoring her body, she was able to connect fully to her heart and Spirit where true healing continues to this day. She received the 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Bodhi Yoga in Provo, Utah in 2011.

Continuing her healing journey, one of her students introduced her to Reiki.  She completed the Usui Master Reiki teacher training in June of 2016.  She is a certified Elise Miller Yoga for Scoliosis trainer specializing in back care.  She emphasizes connecting mind, body, and Spirit when guiding students through their yoga and meditation practice.

Then you may even try to follow precisely, as much as possible moving and positioning your body just as the instructor advises. During a class like […]
