Teacher Training Policies

Holistic Yoga School Policies For All RYT-200 & RYT-300 Teacher Trainers:

By enrolling in a Holistic Yoga School & Studio Program all participants agree to the Policies outlined below. Each participant has also acknowledged their understanding as a part of the Application & Registration Process.

Holiday Closures (no TTC classes on the following days): Labor Day Weekend, Halloween Evening, Thanksgiving (Weds – Fri), Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Easter, Memorial Day Weekend

Snow Days

HYS will follow suit and cancel TTC classes whenever the local school district cancels their classes. For evening and weekend programs, we will try to follow nearby college campus closures, or use our own discretion. If we incur snow days then additional training hours may need to be scheduled with the group.

TTC Absences

When enrolling in a teacher training program, participants should plan to attend each full day and every class, except in the case of illness/emergency or if planned absences are approved and arranged in advance. Makeup work will be provided and additional classes and/or private instruction may be required for course completion and certification. Additional fees may apply.

PLANNED ABSENCES

Although highly discouraged to miss any classes, a planned absence can be arranged in advance if needed.  If approved, make-up work will be provided to be completed in a timely manner.  See the Make-up work section. Additional fees for group classes and/or private instruction may apply.

LAST-MINUTE ABSENCES

Please let us know that you will not be able to attend class by either emailing info@holisticyogaschool.com or calling 970-412-4114. Make-up work will be given to be completed in a timely manner.  See the Make-up work section. Additional fees for group classes and/or private instruction may apply.

Makeup Work

In order to continue to progress in the teacher training program when classes are missed, participants must reach out to the HYS office to receive makeup assignments which may include homework assignments, attending other group classes ($10 – $15 per hour depending on the class), or private sessions ($60 per hour). All makeup work must be completed in a timely manner to stay on-track with the rest of the group.

It is the sole discretion of the HYS office to determine how makeup work shall be completed (i.e. at-home assignments, attendance at other classes, and/or private instruction).

Tardiness (applies to all classes):

A participant is considered tardy if they are not set-up and ready for class to begin at the scheduled start time.

Doors may be locked at the time that class is scheduled to begin. If any TTC participant is unable to attend class due to arriving late then they will be required to make-up any missed material as outlined in the policies above.

Cancellation

If a participant needs to cancel out of a full training then 45-days notice prior to the first date of the class is required to receive a refund less the $450 deposit (plus an additional $100 fee if you had a payment plan). For cancellations with less than 45-days notice, we will attempt to fill your spot in the course and if so then you will be refunded less the deposit/payment plan fee. For cancellations with less than 45-day’s notice, if we are not able to fill your spot in the training, then no refund will be issued.

If training needs to be canceled by HYS then all registered participants will have the option to receive a refund or transfer enrollment into another training. Credit card (3.5%) and bank transfer (1%) fees will be retained from your refund.

Withdrawal

A participant may elect to withdrawal their enrollment from the teacher training at any time. No refunds will be provided.

Late Payments

A $35 late fee will be applied for any incomplete or late payment. A participant on a payment plan who incurs more than two late payments may be terminated from the teacher training program. Any remaining balance owed will be billed at that time, due one month from the invoice date.

Termination from TTC:

May occur due to any of the following:

  1. Failure to complete program requirements; including but not limited to the successful completion of Practicums and demonstrated aptitude in the YA 13 competencies
  2. Multiple tardies, late-cancellations or no-shows
  3. More than 2 (two) late payments
  4. Inappropriate behavior / classroom etiquette
  5. Coming to class under the influence of substances
  6. Lack of participation in classes
  7. Too many absences/failure to complete assigned makeup work for absences
  8. Breach of “Yoga’s Code of Conduct” as described at the beginning of the TTC manual

In the event of TTC Termination, no refunds will be issued, and when applicable the participant will still be required to pay any remaining balance owed.

Freedom Flow – Nurturing Your Inner Guru

Let me ask you a question. In Yoga class, do you always follow along with the teacher’s cues or demonstration? Maybe you have an inner perfectionist or competitive edge. Then you may even try to follow precisely, as much as possible moving and positioning your body just as the instructor advises. During a class like […]
