Krista Davis (Allen)

Holistic Yoga School Founder & Lead Teacher Training Facilitator

Krista Davis - Holistic Yoga School
Krista M Davis, BSc, ERYT-500, CYT, YACEP

As a teacher, Krista approaches her role as a guide for students learning. She aims to readily adapt to the needs and interests of the class so that each participant finds their own personal practice. Krista enjoys sharing from many different styles and traditions, to bring Holism into the yoga classroom and help students balance their body, mind, and spirit. Embodiment is a key feature within her teaching, as she gently yet confidently encourages students to become more interoceptive through invitatory, all-levels cues, and support.

“I see yoga and meditation as a harmonizing practice, a way to connect with nature and to become healthy, even luminous. I’m constantly in awe that yoga and meditation can be relevant in every aspect of life, whether we’re planting gardens, raising children, caring for ourselves and our surroundings, or doing our work. Yoga teaches us to breathe in to and be flexible within life’s experiences so that we may yield to the beauty we are constantly surrounded by.”

Krista’s been teaching yoga for 12 years. She has more than 10k hours of teaching experience as an All-Levels Holistic Sadhana Yoga Teacher with additional specialized training including Children’s Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Adaptable / Prenatal. Her Psychology degree from CSU and service as a Social Worker helped contribute to and molded her skills and abilities within the field of helping. She also served as an international Yoga Teacher Training Facilitator and Director of Operations for the School of Yoga Institute, and 300-hour training facilitator for the Kula Collective. In 2012 she founded the Holistic Yoga School in Fort Collins, Colorado, which has existed as both a yoga studio and community hub. Currently she’s spending most of her time caring for her two young children. However, she still offers a couple of annual yoga teacher trainings, continuing ed workshops, and sharing weekly yoga and meditation classes in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor. To this day, Krista actively feeds the Colorado yoga community with her dedicated support and encouragement.

Freedom Flow – Nurturing Your Inner Guru

Let me ask you a question. In Yoga class, do you always follow along with the teacher’s cues or demonstration? Maybe you have an inner perfectionist or competitive edge. Then you may even try to follow precisely, as much as possible moving and positioning your body just as the instructor advises. During a class like […]
