Jaebird Adventures: America, Keep the Faith

November 7, 2016 by Krista Davis 1 Comment

I can’t lie, living overseas during this election season has been really nice. No TV and radio ads, no bumper stickers or street signs and no canvassers calling me every day. It has been refreshing.

However, with the internet and social media, I have of course not been left in the dark on the madness that has turned into our 2016 elections. Living in a different country has also made me realize how much of the world’s eyes are on America right now. I get asked about my feelings on Trump and Clinton everytime I mention I am from the United States. Friends here have joked with me that I am ‘running away’ from our problems by moving to Colombia. In ways they are right, but in reality there is no escaping these issues.

This is a strange time for our country. Even thousands of miles away I feel the heaviness in the hearts of the American people. I feel it in my own heart too. There are probably going to be some very challenge times ahead of us and for one individual person it can be very confusing and overwhelming to know what is right all the time.

BUT

If there is one thing I can say to us right now, on the eve of this election, is to keep the faith America! I implore us all to believe in the good on this planet. May we chose to respect one and other more than as just being on one side of the political spectrum or the other. May we continue to relate to one and other on a deeper level and prove that we do not have to follow this same polarization the political world shows us. May we have the strength to find the common ground rather than needing to prove someone else wrong. May we offer love and support to someone rather than thinking that this is what they get for voting for the “wrong” person. May we continue to find our peace and breath as this world needs our peacekeeping skills now more than ever.

Stand strong warriors of the light!

I know this time is not easy, I feel the turmoil in all of our hearts. But I beg you each to come together in love rather than be divide by fear. No matter what happens after this election, may we offer the best of our spirits to help create a world which is beautiful to live in and never forget that we are not on this journey alone. Join together brothers and sisters, let’s fight this good fight of peace. Let’s fight for hope, let’s fight for love. And let us never lose that faith.

fight-for-peace

The light in me honors, respects and BELIEVES in the light in each one of you ~Namaste

with lots of love from jaebird
