What is Holistic Health? What is Holism? Why is it important? How can we incorporate it into our daily lives? Will it be difficult to maintain? How does Yoga fit in? What about meditation? How do we know where to start to become healthy from a holistic approach?
These questions and more were explored during our 2 day Holistic Health Retreat this month. Being that it was still early in the year, we set our intention for the weekend to be:
The Power of Intention – Thoughts Create Destiny.
We centered our discussions on this intention and how it applied to our daily lives as well as how it impacts our mental health and wellbeing. As we moved our bodies in a Chakra flow, a walking meditation and later with a Restorative flow, we allowed for the space of the idea of holism to seep into our body, mind and spirit.
We learned that through meditation and mantra, we can capture the peace and stillness associated with the essence of being more than just healthy, without the presence of illness.
The focus of our intention and the prana of our own being allowed us to fully feel our own power. This power is what we possess, without any effort, which guides us to that place of holism.
Much of what we do each day is already part of a holistic lifestyle, yet there is always opportunity to continue to move towards that place where we become closer to our purpose.
Through our complete approach to holistic health in this special time we learned that if we just focus on one thing, just one small change, we become closer to our destiny.
We closed a very special sacred space with a Yoga Nidra Meditation. We left the space we created but held on to the experiences and connections we gained during our time together. Maybe with a little more strength and focus to our own intentions and creating our true destiny with the power of our thoughts.
As the facilitator of such a special time for all, I am truly blessed to have been able to witness the growth toward sustaining a holistic lifestyle; that ever so subtle energy that brings us peace.
Namaste,
Liz
