Just like that, Spring seems to be approaching in Colorado!
It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating holidays and ringing in the new year. Winter is a time of nesting and hibernation, and as the sun begins to shine brighter and longer, many of us find ourselves feeling lighter, lifted, and brighter. Spring is a time of rebirth, transformation, and joy!
As the seasons begin to turn over, you may notice that your practice shifts, too. Are you feeling more energized? Perhaps challenged by distractions like to-do lists or spring cleaning? Maybe you’re feeling inspired to challenge yourself deeper or more intensely with movement.
No matter how your heart is feeling during this shift, it’s important to lean into the change of seasons, and create space for yourself to grow.
So, as yogis, how do we do that? We’re sharing a few of our go-to’s below.
Get Outside
Whether getting outside means a gentle walk, outdoor Vinyasa class, or simply a ten minute outdoor meditation on your porch- find a way to enjoy movement outside! It doesn’t matter if it’s outside your front door or deep in the mountains, give yourself some time to enjoy fresh, springtime air, fresh blooms, and some sunshine. It’s sure to leave you feeling energized.
Build Heat
Maybe to you, this means practicing in our space, in front of a wood-fire stove. Perhaps it’s bringing a faster pace to your practice, or trying more challenging, strength-inspired Vinyasa classes. Maybe it’s even as simple as focusing more deeply on your breath to create internal heat in your body throughout your day. As the sun continues to make our days warmer and longer, lean into the idea of building heat in your individual self.
Try Something New
Spring is a fresh start! Take this opportunity to try a new class style, or a type of movement you’ve never done before. Each class and experience you have is a fresh start- an opportunity to nurture, learn, and grow. Take each moment as a chance to blossom.
As we continue to move through the year, we hope to continue to be a space of love, growth, and support for all yogis.
Happy Spring, HYS Family!
